#1 song this week August 1, 2015: Walk the Moon - Shut Up and Dance
1. Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop the Feeling (#2)

Biggest Drop: Nick Jonas/Tove Lo - Close (-18)
Biggest Jump: Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty (+9) (Why?)

Blurby Say/Blurbsick
About time My House and Work left.

Me, Myself and I should also leave. Same with 7 Years.

I love Lovesick!

Missing You, Girls Talk Boys, Figure Me Out, and Treat You Better were close to being the biggest jump.

Speaking of biggest jump, 9 spots? That's the smallest biggest jump this year.

If I asked a random person "What is the most popular song right now?" they would most likely say "One Dance." That song DROPPED this week. How ridiculous.

I am not using pink for color-coding anymore. I'm using red for that now.

Last time Once in a While dropped? June 18.

Victorious should be out of the top 20 by now.

I Took a Pill in Ibiza took quite a big drop from #1.

Could Sit Still, Look Pretty be our next #1? I hope not.

Can Hits 1 give another song a shot at #1? Ride? Just Like Fire? Cheap Thrills?

My top 5 countdown
5. Adele - Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
4. Lukas Graham - Mama Said
3. Meghan Trainor - Me Too
2. Jacob Whitesides - Lovesick
1. 5 Seconds of Summer - Girls Talk Boys

Hit-Bound
Fifth Harmony - All in My Head (Flex) (DEBUT)
Andy Grammer - Fresh Eyes (DEBUT)
Troye Sivan/Alessia Cara - Wild
The Strumbellas - Spirits
Ariana Grande - Into You (DEBUT)
Flume/Kai - Never Be Like You (DEBUT)
Twenty One Pilots - Heathens (DEBUT)
AJR - I'm Not Famous
Coldplay/Beyoncé/SeeB - Hymn For the Weekend
MKTO - Superstitious (DEBUT)
Katy Perry - Rise
Steve Aoki/Boehm/Walk the Moon - Back 2 U
Magic! - Red Dress
Ben Rector - Brand New

6 Hit-Bound debuts this week, and that was not a typo. SIX. Probably the most Hit-Bound debuts in one week for this year.

Fifth Harmony bring All in My Head (Flex). I first fully heard this 10 days ago during the car ride to the airport to go to California. It was one of the most played songs in the car during the trip and it's really catchy.

Andy Grammer is back! Fresh Eyes is pretty good and I hope it makes the countdown.

Ariana Grande - Into You is awesome! It's probably going to debut the countdown.

I have never heard of Flume and Kai until this year and they have Never Be Like You on Hit-Bound. It's pretty good.

Twenty One Pilots' Tear in My Heart, Stressed Out, and Ride were pretty good, and this one, Heathens, is pretty bad. It's just boring to me.

MKTO are not new to the countdown as they have had four previous countdown songs, which were Thank You (definitely their best), Classic (a big hit), American Dream (pretty good), and Bad Girls (awesome). Superstitious is pretty good. Hopefully this one will make the countdown.

Yup, I've grown into Hymn For the Weekend. Both versions.

The oldest song on Hit-Bound is a tie between I'm Not Famous, Red Dress, and Brand New, each spending their 7th week on Hit-Bound.

Forgot a blurb. I can't believe I predicted that No Broken Hearts and I Wanna Know would leave Hit-Bound. Hello Friday also left Hit-Bound.

Whew! Those were a lot of Hit-Bound blurbs.

My top 5 Hit-Bound
5. Magic! - Red Dress
4. The Strumbellas - Spirits
3. Ben Rector - Brand New
2. AJR - I'm Not Famous
1. Ariana Grande - Into You

Predictions
My prediction score: 157 (how many spots I was away from each song total)

Farthest prediction:
Off 11 spots
Selena Gomez - Kill Em With Kindness
Predicted #44, actually #33

Closest prediction:

Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out at #18
Timeflies - Once in a While at #13
Daya - Sit Still, Look Pretty at #3

Check out my 40 favorite songs of the week, #40Friday here.

Check out YOUR (the Weekend Countdown blog community) favorite songs here.

Also, some records for 2016 were formed. That is:
Most weeks at #1
Smallest biggest jump
(It's not a record but the drop from #1 was huge)
Longest chart run (in 2016) (Saying this because one song from 2015 dropped off)

Girls Talk Blurbs
I like Work, but when a song hangs around the bottom of the countdown for a long period of time it gets annoying, so please leave.

You've got to be kidding me about #29.

Girls Talk Boys is just so good that it has to be in purple for this week, at least.

I'm growing out of Figure Me Out.

Mama Said = Perfect top 20 song

Oh come on Victorious. That's enough.

Let's get This is What You Came For and Just Like Fire to #1.

Shocking #1 this week. No one expected it.

Hit-Bound
I grew into Hymn For the Weekend a little.

I grew into All About Us.

Steve Aoki/Boehm/Walk the Moon - Back 2 U is good, but sounds like it should be from 2014 (???)

Do What Symon Blurb

Say is amazing!!! It's been on Hit-Bound for three and a half months. It's about time it debuted.

The 1975 are back with The Sound. It's been on Hit-Bound even longer than Say, and it's kind of old now. I'm totally fine with this though.

Drake now has two songs on the countdown as he debuts with One Dance. It should have debuted in like, May, but at least it's here. It's very catchy.

And now for the most controversial debut this week. That is Lukas Graham - Mama Said. I find this to be a great song, and I know exactly why many hate it. It's because of the little kids singing, which I think is cute. I guess I'm one of those people who likes "annoying" voices.

Work needs to leave! It's not popular anymore! Same with Me, Myself and I!

Okay...Lost Boy dropped 12. I wish it could stay a little longer. But not as long as Work has been staying.

Wild Things dropped 13 spots. Unfair!

Victorious unexpectedly jumped 16 spots. I'm fine with this if the following doesn't happen:

It doesn't re-enter the top 10.
It drops next week.

Somehow I am still enjoying this song. It's just fun.

That certain band I was talking about earlier was Fall Out Boy!!! Goodbye from the countdown!

Many died in the Nice attacks in France and the Turkey coup d'état attempt this week, so #PrayForNice #PrayForTurkey

Seriously, Stressed Out jumped? Why?

I'm still hoping for Just Like Fire to hit #1.

My top 5

#bananasinging

I am doing a Spring Voting song wars. Please vote for the final round here.

Also, I am doing a Wutchuwant countdown for Hits 1 here. So please vote for that too.

Exit:

Send My Blurbs

I love Send My Love (To Your New Lover). It's much different from Hello and When We Were Young and more of Adele's songs.

Um, is #45 even popular now? You are taking up space on this countdown. LEAVE.

Along with #45, #36 needs to leave because of its oldness. And there has not been a countdown without Fall Out Boy since February 2, 2013.

This week we have a rare sighting. The biggest drop is higher than the biggest jump.

Why did Stressed Out jump? Hopefully this song will be gone by the end of August, or even July.

Ride, get to #1 please! Same with Just Like Fire!

Hit-Bound

Send My Love (To Your New Lover) left to debut the countdown.

I've grown out of Say a little bit, but it is still the best song on Hit-Bound. Please debut next week.

How did One Dance not debut this week?! Please debut next week.

The Strumbellas - Spirits debuted this week. It's good.

Blurb Yourself:

You may notice some artists missing from the songs. The website I got the data from doesn't show all of the artists for some songs so I typed it that way.

Wow, Don't Tell 'Em was ranked pretty high for a song that was popular in 2014.

Hide Away at #20? I'm a little surprised about that. I thought it would be lower than that.

Weird how Cake By the Ocean never hit #1 on the radio charts. I know that song was really popular.

Uptown Funk and Shut Up and Dance are still going strong.

If Hollow flopped on Hits 1, then how is it on here? Why didn't Hits 1 get it over #26?

I've never really heard Controlla, Kiss it Better, Antidote, Never Be Like You, Company, and the #35 Sugar before today so that's why they are in green.

Yes, I like Thinking Out Loud. I know you all hated it. I think it's a sweet song. But it shouldn't have stayed on Hits 1 for a year. That's way too much time.

I have a (music) poll that I will close tomorrow morning. Vote here.

So what did you think about this? What are your opinions on the songs? Leave a comment below.
