Twenty One Pilots (2) - January 28, 2017

Hey! It's time for the fourth countdown of 2017. I think this a good week but also a bad week. I'm honestly feeling unsteady (X Ambassadors reference) about our #1. It was popular a long time ago...I just really feel like cursing right now. Also, for some reason, there were no exits this week. I think there should definitely be more activity on this countdown.

When I Was Six Years Old I Broke My Blurb

I am 95% sure that Heathens now has the biggest gap between #1 dates. The largest I've seen before is Taylor Swift - Bad Blood with 7 weeks, but oh look here, Heathens has 14 weeks. I don't think I've been this angry about a #1 before. Hits 1, this isn't even popular anymore! Like this is literally below the teens on both the Hot 100 and the radio charts. If this is a joke it's not funny. #TheGreatestForNumberOne

In good news, Chase You Down hit the top 10 out-of-the-blue. Never in a million years would I have thought it would be in the top 10 this week. But YAAASSS!!! Keep going! Hit #1 if you want! (P.S. Graham, I'm begging you not to put this song in red.)

I don't think that Can't Stop the Feeling is going to turn to red at this point. It's just really old but I can't imagine it as bad anymore.

I normally don't dislike songs, but I think it's definitely okay to turn Unsteady to red now, as most of you hate it.

Let's talk about the transition of turquoise songs. Out of turquoise and red is Love Me Now, which I doubt will be in green, and if so, it will only be for a week or two. Really I just think that some parts of this song are boring and some are upbeat and catchy. So yeah. But new to turquoise is Say You Won't Let Go, which is becoming a snoozefest. This is becoming as boring as Love Me Now used to be and I can see it in my bottom 5 of 2016. (Not 2017, 2016.)

You're Not There is moving rather slow. I'd really like to see this make at least top 25 or top 20.

Thank goodness we got one certain song out of the top 10 and almost out of the top 20. It's about time.

So Mercy reaches top 10 territory on its fourth week. Interesting.

I will start off with Castle on the Hill. It's nowhere near as good as Shape of You, I will tell you that. But it is a nice and beautiful song, even though it's on the blue-green border. I just don't really like the beat or whatever it's called in the beginning of the song.

On the better side is I Feel it Coming by The Weeknd and Daft Punk. This is much slower than Starboy but it's really good. Every part about this song is good and Daft Punk does a nice job with it.

MØ is one of my favorite artists. But Don't Leave is good but nothing amazing. I wouldn't care if it debuts.

That's What I Like is pretty good. It's catchy and is just a simple song and reminds me of Shy Carter/Aleon Craft - Bring it Back. But what I don't get is that both a single and a promotional single from the same album are on Hit-Bound. Versace on the Floor is still good though and a nice song, even though it's not going to debut #40Friday at this point.

I Got You is awesome. Very catchy chorus and beat.

Oh come on, why did In My Mind leave again? I was enjoying that one. Blow Your Mind and Shout Out to My Ex should have debuted too. They were both nice songs.

I am really liking Love Like We Used To. Very catchy but I don't see this one debuting.

Can Dancing on My Own just leave Hit-Bound? No one here likes you, and that's not a lie.

Before the nighttime Hit-Bound played, Gwen Stefani - Make Me Like You and Nicki Minaj - Anaconda played. Weird?

So In the Name of Love dropped from the top 10 to the bottom 10 in two weeks. I'm not really okay with that, but it would be interesting to see a #6-peaking song only have 10 or 11 weeks on the chart.

I hope this 7-spot drop means that Say You Won't Let Go is flopping.

What a drop for You're Not There. I don't think this should be dropping but I think it will probably jump next week.

Last week's #25-#22 is this week's #30-27. Just saying.

I'm sure that almost every single one of you is happy about Unsteady dropping out of the top 20. I'm happy too.

HandClap and Shape of You jumping 17 spots is a great thing. These songs deserve radio popularity.

Speaking of big jumps, I'm totally fine with Bad Things having this week's biggest. I really like it so I'm glad it's doing well.

Again, both of the exits peaked at the same spot.

The lowest debut here is one that I've had many different opinions on since it came out. I thought it was good at first, then got a little boring, then when it made Hits 1 I started to love it. Both Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello do a great job on the song, and honestly it's beautiful. I like it, and it's about time it made the countdown since it's been doing well on other charts for some time.

Now for the higher debut. I have been obsessed with this song. It starts off with a Cheap Thrills kind of beat which goes right into the verses. Then comes the amazing chorus and then the rest of the song. This song and Sing are going to be Ed's two best songs. I know this one is going to stay with me for a while.

Issues is weird but catchy. Also it isn't really fast-paced. That's really all I can say about it.

Paris is good but nothing amazing. The drop isn't that active. But the single cover doesn't have a square in the middle so that makes me think an album from them will be out soon. I like it though.

I think Heavydirtysoul is the best debut of the week. The style of this song leans more towards Stressed Out than it does to Ride. I like the fast rap (even though they say it isn't rap) verses. The chorus is pretty nice. And I do really like dark songs like this.

I really am liking In My Mind and Love Like We Used To. These two songs may be in my top 10 on #40Friday soon.

Gavin DeGraw - She Sets the City on Fire left this week. I think it was obvious that this song was going to leave. But it was a nice song and at least it was considered bound to be a hit.

Of course Love Me Now is in the top 20. But I grew into it a tiny bit, as I think the "love me now"s in the chorus are alright.

Unsteady has lasted 40 weeks on the countdown and is still in the top 20. I'm not really happy about this, and neither is anyone else except Hollow Man.

OW. We have another huge biggest drop, as In the Name of Love falls from the top 10 to outside the top 30.
