Hi everyone! I have not posted here in 5 years, and I always love a nice comeback, so I have been wanting to make a Weekend Countdown post here for a while. Last week one of our OG Hits 1 posters Adrian made a surprise WC post. Adrian's post has finally inspired me to actually do it (though I don't want to overshadow his post, you can find it on the sidebar!) I don't plan on doing this often, but maybe once in a while.
I got my first car last year, and I've had Hits 1 as one of the presets, so I still often listen to the station. I did not actually listen to the countdown though (and I never have for years). Credits for the list this week go to Zestpond.
Here is the sole countdown exit this week:
- TOMORROW X TOGETHER/Jonas Brothers - Do It Like That (#24)
And the countdown:

Give Me a Blurb
- A lot of things have changed on Hits 1 in the last 5 years. First off, most of the countdown watchers are new. Most noticeably, the countdown has been reduced from 45 to 30 songs. There are also a lot more HitBound dropouts.
- Some things did not change. Spyder Harrison is still hosting, which is nice to see. And Fall Out Boy has 2 songs on the countdown.
- One of the many new artists that became popular since I last posted is Billie Eilish. I love a lot of her songs and she has definitely made my generation proud. What Was I Made For? falls flat for me, though. I haven't seen Barbie yet so that could be part of the reason why.
- I also have enjoyed all the other singles from SZA's album, but I haven't gotten into Snooze yet. I would have liked to see Kill Bill or Shirt in its place.
- Satellite feels like a total flop. It does not feel nearly as popular as As It Was or Late Night Talking. Which could be why it hasn't reached the top 3 on the WC yet.
- Give Me a Kiss has spent 3 weeks at #1 on the Weekend Countdown. I had never heard this song until today and it doesn't seem to be that popular. So I don't know why it's so big on Hits 1.
- We have a new #1 this week and it's a phenomenal one. I am so glad Cruel Summer finally got its flowers after 4 long years, it is truly deserving of it. I am hoping it gets that #1 on the Hot 100 too.
My top 5 of the Weekend Countdown:
1. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer
2. Dua Lipa - Dance the Night
3. Jung Kook/Latto - Seven
4. FIFTY FIFTY - Cupid
5. Olivia Rodrigo - vampire
